Sicherheitsstudie zu Runway End Safety Areas und Runway Strips
In autumn 2017 aviare performed safety studies regarding the Runway End Safety Areas (RESA) and Runway strips of Fraport Greece’s 14 regional airports. Following the documentation of the current conditions were documented and if a non-compliance with the EASA specifications were determined, airport-specific measures were developed, so-called “Mitigative Measures”. The development of those Mitigative Measures was done in consideration of the analysis of globally, relevant aviation accidents and statistics.
Fraport Greece was founded by the German airport operator Fraport AG and the Greek Copelouzos Group in 2015. It took charge of the operation, management and development of the airports in Aktion, Chania, Corfu, Kavala, Kefalonia, Kos, Mytilene, Mykonos, Rhodes, Samos, Santorini, Skiathos, Thessaloniki and Zakynthos from April 2017 on for the next 40 years.
